The "Berber Brushes" are one of the atypical instruments that Steve Shehan has always been using, recording and traveling with around the world for decades now.
The Berber brushes are an integral part of Steve's instrumentarium found in the majority of his albums and his worldwide cooperation with various artists, from the jazz to the French song, crossing through the traditional or the contemporary music.
Are looking for a unique natural sound with a wide modulation range? The brushes proposed by Steve are propitious to creativity and adapt to many performance types and musical styles.
Curious musicians, amateurs, professionals, collectors, sound seekers, these brushes will be a true complement to the set of percussions and world instruments.
Each set is handmade and is the fruit of an artist craftsman who perpetuates an old traditions going back centuries ago. The use of these brushes is a way to contribute to the development of your sound research and to support those craftsmen who work so respectfully with nature and traditions.
In order to protect and to be able to travel with these brushes, Steve works closely with a renown stylist, Salima Abdel-Wahab, who designs a beautiful and unique cover for each of the sets of the Berber brushes.
These Berber brushes cannot at all be compared to the plastic brushes with rubber handles sold in retail stores. Sonorous and allowing brushing/playing on natural as well as on synthetic skins or other material, the Berber brushes are calibrated by Steve in order to guarantee a precise performing quality. These brushes will allow you to adopt a wide variety of touches during your concerts or recording sessions.
All the brushes are a handcrafted unique set, available only in limited quantities.
